Drs. Thompson and Libert both specialize in Family Medicine, providing medical care for newborns, children, adolescents and adults in the office and hospital settings. We also work with Union County Nursing Home and several local hospice agencies. We offer the following surgical and other procedures in our office: hip, knee and shoulder injections, endometrial (uterine) biopsies, skin biopsies, IUD (intra-uterine devies) insertion, cryotherapy (freezing) of warts and other skin lesions, ear wax lavage, electrocardiogram, spirometry (lung function test), cervical cancer screening (PAP smear) and sexually transmitted disease testing.

Dr. Thompson is board certified in family medicine. She completed her residency training at Mountain Area Health Education Center affiliated with UNC Chapel Hill at Mission Hospitals in Asheville, NC. She received her medical degree from Medical College of Georgia and her Bachelor degree from Mercer University with a double major in Chemistry and German.

Dr. Thompson enjoys being a family doctor and especially appreciates the personal connections she has with her patients. Her other interests include chocolate, science-fiction novels, and exercising. She resides in Blairsville with her husband and daughter.

Cynthia J. Libert, M.D.

Dr. Libert is board certified in family medicine. She completed her residency training at Mountain Area Health Education Center affiliated with UNC Chapel Hill at Mission Hospitals in Asheville, NC. She received her medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago and her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Saint Louis University.

Dr. Libert practices a holistic approach to health and wellness utilizing the best of modern medicine and evidence based complementary and alternative therapies. She has a special interest in natural approaches to healing & disease prevention through nutrition, physical fitness, stress management and mind-body modalities. She enjoys running, cooking, and spending time in nature. She resides in Blairsville with her husband and two daughters.
